Frequently Asked Questions
What can I expect during my Brazilian Wax?
Getting Started:
When you arrive, your waxing specialist will show you to a private room. They’ll provide you with a cleansing wipe to freshen up and a privacy towel for coverage.
Privacy & Comfort:
Your specialist will step out while you undress from the waist down. Once you’re ready, you can cover yourself with the privacy towel. No need to feel self-conscious—they’re professionals who perform Brazilian waxes every day.
The Waxing Process:
Your specialist will walk you through the entire process. They’ll remove hair from the front of the pubic bone, around the external genitals, between the upper thighs, and around the anus. You can choose to have all the hair removed or leave a small strip in the front—just let them know your preference.
Time & Care:
The full service takes about 30 minutes, and your specialist will ensure you’re as comfortable as possible throughout. If you have any questions or specific preferences, feel free to share them with your specialist. We’re here to make your experience smooth and stress-free!✨
How long does my hair need to be?
That is a great question and most clients have not been properly educated and let me inform you the longer is NOT the better! I recommend for the most comfortable waxing experience that your hair is at least a quarter-inch (think of the size of a long grain of rice) if you have freshly shaved that's about 2 and a half weeks of growing out.
*If receiving a Brazilian and your hair is on the longer side (hasn't received any grooming in 2+ months) You will need to trim to the recommended length stated above. Longer hair leads to a very unpleasant waxing experience as well as breakage. We want you to have the most comfortable waxing experience possible!
Will my skin experience a reaction?
Yes, possibly. If you have a tendency towards ingrown hairs and irritation from shaving, you are more likely to have the same reactions waxing, although dramatically DECREASED. To minimize skin reactions, refer to precare/postcare (below FAQ) and get waxed on a regular schedule. Your artist will help set you up for waxing success!
Are there any restrictions that I should be aware of?
This applies to both waxing and facials YES! Let us know if you are Pregnant or any medications or topicals you are using, including but not limited to Accutane, Renova, Retin A... basically any medications used for treating acne, as well as antibiotics, and allergies or sensitivities you may have.
Is it really that important to have an at-home skincare routine in-between Facials?
Is it important to brush your teeth in between dentist appointments?......YES!!! Most of your skin goals depend on having an intentional, consistent, and quality routine at home (what you use regularly makes the most difference!)
The do's and Don'ts of Waxing
Prepare:
1. Make sure hair is the appropriate length (refer to FAQ)
2. Shower/Exfoliate
3. Skip the moisturizer/oil
4. Wear something comfortable.
5. Relax, you're in good hands and it will be over before you know it!
Aftercare:
There are a few things you might see in the pubic and buttocks region post-treatment, and they’re totally normal!
Bumps: It’s normal to experience some minor bumps or irritation after your wax. These typically go away within a few hours to a couple of days. To soothe your skin, consider using a post-wax serum—your Artist can recommend a good one.
Redness: Temporary redness is common and can last anywhere from a few minutes to a couple of days.
Itching: As the hair starts to grow back, you may feel some itching. Try to avoid scratching—gently exfoliating the area can help prevent discomfort.
Stubble or Ingrown Hairs: Since hair grows in cycles, you may notice a few stray hairs surfacing after your wax. Regular exfoliation and moisturizing can help prevent ingrown hairs and keep your skin
smooth.
If you have any questions or need product recommendations, feel free to ask your Artist. We’re here to help you keep your skin feeling soft and happy! 💕
For the first 24-48 hours:
1. No saunas, hot tubs, massage, or steam treatments.
2. No tanning (sunbathing, sunbeds, or fake tans).
3. No working out or other activities that will cause you to sweat a lot.
4. I know it's tempting, but please DO NOT touch.
5. Wear clean, loose-fitting clothes.. very breathable materials
6. Do not apply deodorants, body sprays, powders, lotions, or
other products to the area, other than those recommended by
your artist.
7. Most importantly, DO NOT SHAVE this reverses the benefits of waxing
The reason why is because bacteria, oils, runoff products, dirt, etc. will interfere with your newly waxed/exfoliated area and increase the chance of irritation and infection.
After 48 hours you may start your exfoliation/moisturizing routine as discussed with your artist.
